WebQuest Introduction:
During the 1700's, Britain and France were two of the strongest powers in Europe. The countries competed for wealth and empire throughout the rest of the world. The rivalry between the two countries carried over to their North American colonies, causing bitter feelings between English and French colonists. This bitterness grew worse when the British decided to move into the Ohio River valley, an area the French regarded as theirs. The tensions continued to build until they escalated into a war between the two powerful nations. Knowing that they would need allies, both France and England tried to recruit help from the various Native American tribes.
Task:
Show What You Know!
You will use this WebQuest to help you learn about the French and Indian War, its causes, and the events that came about as a result of the war. As you read and investigate, you will complete a quilt that showcases different aspects of the war.
Your quilt will be constructed of nine, 8 x 8 paper squares. Each square will have its own set of directions for completion. When all squares are completed, attach them by using glue or tape. Other than the center square, the quilt can be arranged in any pattern.
